Overcoming the world by our believing is an achievable goal. God’s Word promises us in I John 5:4: “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh [conquers] the world: and this is the victory that overcometh [conquers] the world, even our faith [believing].” In this issue we’ll look at truths from God’s Word that we can take believing action on to overcome obstacles we face in our day-by-day living.

“The Magnificent Church Epistles,” by Rev. Bill Sage, explains how the epistles of Romans through Thessalonians provide us with all that is necessary for a power-filled, glorious walk in Christ. God has chosen us to be on His team, equipped us to win, and blessed us with all spiritual blessings. In response to these truths, Dessie Walker says, “Let’s Play Ball!”

We learn in I Corinthians 13: The Love of God that as we manifest the love of God, we absolutely don’t rejoice in iniquity, but we rejoice in the truth of God’s Word. What Does the Word Say? answers the question “Can God’s gift of holy spirit be taken away?”

The Witnesses in Our Occupations article, “Shining as Witnesses for God in Food Services,” by Joy Niesz, reviews Biblical principles all workers can apply to positively influence their workplaces and show the kindness of God to others. In Titles of God in the Bible, we see that “The God of Patience” is long-suffering and patient with every believer, and that He is also the Source of our patient endurance. The Prevailing Word Report contains highlights and photographs of the recognition fellowships for the Way Disciples of Outreach Group XXIII, held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, to celebrate their success during their six-month tenure. Another report provides coverage of a special reception held at The Way International Headquarters following the March 12, 2017, Sunday Teaching Service, where the believers enjoyed meeting and greeting the Directors and Senior Officers.

As you read this issue, you may want to write down goals that you are inspired to accomplish in your life. This will provide specific points of focus along with the motivation to push through any challenge that might come up. Those who set goals and write them down are far more likely to succeed than those who don’t. What a blessing to know that we can overcome all obstacles with God’s backing as we take believing action on His Word!
